Smudge (now Logan)

I adopted a pup you were calling "Smudge" We changed his name to Logan and he is settling in wonderfully. I thought you might like to see his Halloween outfit. He is dressed to kill in his business man shirt :) Thanks again! Jan

Bogey

He's doing SO well, and we love him more and more every day! He just graduated from Puppy training at PetsMart on Monday (the first pic is him with his cap on on Josh's lap). He is such a sweet puppy, and he LOVES going to doggy daycare twice a week at Dog Diggity. He has really come out of his shell since going to puppy training and day care. He LOVES other dogs, and he's starting to come around with strangers, but he's still just a little timid with new people at first. But he's definitely made improvements from the shaky little boy that he was when we first adopted him. He loves to go to Lake Lynn and Shelley Lake on the weekends, especially with this great weather we've been having! And he walks at least 1.5 to 2 hours every day! He's keeping us very active, and it's great to have that bonding time with him every day. He's already learned sit, lay down, come, let's go, up (into the car), stay and paw! He's such a smart boy. Bo is growing very fast, he's over 25 pounds, up from 16 when we first got him! He's getting strong and muscular and he's got such a great and lean body shape. Everyone at doggy daycare calls him a little pit bull puppy, because he looks SO much like a pit bull now, but we don't correct them anymore :) I think he's hound and pitbull, so that's what we tell people that ask. I don't care what he is anyway, he's a great dog and that's all that matters :) Thank you again for everything, and for giving us a wonderful new addition to our family. I'll try to remember to send pictures every so often and keep you posted on how he's doing.

Lulu aka Dolly

She is doing great! She loves walks in the neighborhood and around the lake, but doesn't like to be in the backyard, with or without us. Turns out her skin is allergic to grass! She loves meeting other dogs, but didn't enjoy the dogpark, even though it doesn't have grass. Think we'll wait and try it again. She travels well, so we've been able to avoid boarding her for all but once ot twice We use the vet she went to when she was with you -- and have had very good experiences there. Daisy ( what we call Dolly) is happy to go there the few times it's been and the staff remember her. She had a few accidents onthe floor at first but it's been months since that happened. When we are out she stays in our room. If she needs to pee, she uses the pads in the bathroom, forexample, occasionally she'll use them in the middle of the night. She likes to chew so we try to keep plent of that stuff for her. Even so, once in a while she'll chew tbrough a lamp cord. At first we didn't realize she was eating some of the catfood, so she piton jysta bit too much weight. But with the walks and playing and no.more cat fod, she's come down some. She still isn't a big water drinker but likes her food mixes with plenty of water which she laps up. She's on the trifexis monthly. No flea problem. Oh, she is getting along fine with the cats. the indoor one was curled up with her on the sofa when we andour younger daughter were sitting there watching TV -- so cute! The indoor outdoor cat follows Daisy on neighborhood walks. We've been washing and brushing her but need to get a new brush I think. She's doing better with the baths. She is just about the perfect dog. It's. so wonderful.tohave sucha happy affectionate dog. Thank yousimuch for takinv care of her and letting us adopt her!!!

Hutch (Caliber)

We have renamed our sweet boy to Caliber. He has been such a blessing to our household and our other furr kid. :) Max and Caliber get along so well and act like they are best friends. They hate being away from each other and love to share toys when playing. It is an adorable sight to seeing when they are trying to share one tennis ball. Caliber loves to run with Justin and is such a great companion. He is so full of love and is so eager to share it with those around him. My parents absolutely adore him, and agree that he has been such a great blessing to us and Max. He is also a lap boy. Although, he weighs 40 pounds now that does not stop him from wanting to share your space. We took him to the vet probably a week after we got him, so that our local vet could see him for herself. He was given a booster shot that was not given to him prior to the appointment, and did so very well with all the technicians. He really is just the biggest love and so smart! He now knows sit, stay, down, and in your crate. He loves his belly rubbed and his favor toy is either a tennis ball or a empty water bottle with a covering around it (we found this at Pet-sense). Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to take this loving baby home with us. We love him so very much and our honored to take care of him and give him our love.

Poseidon

Poseidon is progressing quite well and has grown quite a bit. He is still exploring a lot and is quite curious all the time. He is still thin however he is long. He is almost as big as Annabelle but not as thick. She has filled out since we adopted her and is just a petite cat. Poseidon is very talkative and vocalizes his opinion and his dismay when he disagrees or wants us to pay attention to his antics. He actually does like water and will fuss loudly if we shut the door to the shower as he wants to come in and shower also. He has this obsession with the toilet and as soon as the lid is shut he jumps around and on it doing all kinds of quirky things to get in. If we aren't careful he tries to play in the toilet flushing. While teaching him this was not good he was occasionally called pee paws and often got his paws washed. To Annabell and Hudson's annoyance he likes to stick his feet in the fountain water bowls and style his hair along with splashing everything and anything he can manage to get wet. He is the only Kitty in the house that is interested in the grandchildren. He plays with the youngest a little whereas Annabelle stays away and Hudson has a more curious at a distance attitude. Poseidon will play and then he moves on to whatever catches his attention next occasionally this is the older granddaughter who has discovered one of his toys or more likely if is a balloon or other toy he has decided is his very own as he has now discovered it all by hisself. Annabelle still hisses at him sometimes and acts like he is insulting to her intelligence however I often see them playing when she has decided it is time to play. Hudson plays with him in between resting and Annabelle's play time. Annabelle and Poseidon are rough when they play and although I have seen Hudson hold Poseidon down or away he is extremely gentle. Poseidon's favorite game appears to be "Ride the Kitty". He waits for the pounce and then up through the air and onto a kitties back he goes and stays till he slides off or one of them turns him over. Chase is the next popular game and you can hear all three sounding like a herd of dogs running up and down the stairs, through the girls tent, through their tunnels and then the girls tunnels, and then up and down their towers along with on and off all the furniture and in and out of the boxes set throughout the house they seem to like. There is one box in Jeffs office that one Kitty will sit in and sneakily poke any Kitty passing by through the air holes (think the box came from a plant order at some point). Poseidon will play at this game until the others won't play anymore. He is usually full of kitten energy and the other two take turns playing when they want and he waits somewhat patiently if they are playing. They don't all play at once that I have ever seen except chase. Poseidon is usually called by his name although sometimes he is Squirt and other times Slinky. He is quite full of silly actions which make us laugh and get us to play with him. For instance he loves to attack tails including his own and often when Hudson is walking around he stands on his back feet while dueling the tail passing by with both front paws. He also is very fond of being picked up so he can try to sit on shoulders and then there is the ever popular Kitty boxing that him and Annabelle seem to feel is needed every night when I have just fallen asleep. He has seemed to become somewhat of the Alpha in ways although we think Hudson is the "Nurturing " Alpha. Annabelle is still showing signs of jealousy and when Poseidon is on the bed with me or I am playing with him she retires to her house or her bed under my bed. He did take over the top tower seat in my bedroom for a while however they seem to trade out now. Annabelle has become more attached to Jeff since Poseidon's introduction to our family but she still meets me when I arrive home most of the time and makes sure she is downstairs when I leave for the day. They take turns spending time with Jeff however with me they are all usually in the room with me. At night he usually sleeps on a pillow above my head which used to be Hudson's nightly sleeping area and sometimes when Hudson has decided he will be using this area Poseidon cuddles up with me. Annabelle will get on the bed and sleep if Poseidon has decided to reclaim the top of the tower in the early morning. For the past month or so we have been spending a little time several times a day when possible holding Poseidon and rubbing his belly and neck and ears so that he has become comfortable with being a lap Kitty for a little while each day. Hudson had spent a year plus as a shelter cat and he is not very tolerant of being held. He does better each day but would rather be rubbed not held. Annabelle which was a feral has progressed very well and will allow some holding and picking up but she basically wants to lay on the lap and be rubbed. Poseidon, since he was a kitten and had some interaction with people on a regular basis is doing very well learning that cuddling is something he likes and he was not weary of it and people yet. Overall Poseidon has done very well as part of the family. He does have many quirks and actions that I have not seen in many cats or kittens ..... such as last night he was comtemplating the bubbles from the girls bath and once they got out and I had minimized them he decided it was time to explore in he jumped so that I felt the need to wash them off so he didn't eat them ..... kinda like my youngest granddaughter. He appears to be happy and when rest time comes he often curls up on me with his purr box going and head butting my hands for the rubbing to begin. If I am busy typing like now he climbs on my head like a Kitty hat and keeps the purring going till it is his turn and he has been rubbed. He is the same with Jeff.
