Bendy (now Glasha)
Bendy (now Glasha)

Hi RUFF family we wanted to give you an update on our girl. Bendy now Glasha is doing great! She has figured out which cat she can play with and which cat she can't. She sleeps on the bed with us and is on the sofa when we're downstairs. We started obedience class at PetSmart last Friday just to polish her manners. Other than housebreaking (which we're working on) we really couldn't ask for an easier transition. If you want us to bring her for a visit let us know when you're going to be at the Apex Petsmart for an event and we'll bring her by.

Oscar (now Sir Oscar Raleigh)

Sir Oscar Raleigh and Mack Draco are like two peas in a pod and getting along great! He really feels like he's home now and it seems like he's always been with us. He has picked special spots of his own in the house, especially our bed early in the morning! He loves the backyard and playing with Draco and playing with toys and chewing raw hide bones. He loves carrots and yogurt. Like Draco he loves Rick to pieces. Doing good on his potty skills! He minds very well and is very smart and wants to please. I think he is part poodle as well. We love him very much and he is so adorable and lovable he melts your heart. Keep up your wonderful work with the animals. All of you at RUFF and all the other caring animal agencies are truly angels sent from God to help, protect and save these precious creatures.

Miley Rocca

Is it possible to love a dog in less than a week? We think so! We love, adore and laugh all the time with our new addition Rocca, formally known as Miley. She is curious, smart and gets along great with her new brother, Raleigh. Here is a picture of the "furever friends".

Sidney

After rescuing Sidney she adjusted to our home much easier than her adopted sister Betty Boop. She spent about a week upstairs in her own “adjustment room” until she decided she was ready to come down and look around. She could tell that Betty Boop was around, but didn’t really press the issue of finding her. Sidney loves to climb up and sit on the desk and keep us company. We have never seen a cat that purrs as loudly as Sydney does. You can literaily hear her from across the room. She has started sitting in our arms at the desk and dozing off. One day, as we were going out, we saw Sydney misjudge her jump, and pull down the dining room curtains. After some re-arranging, she now has a better route to the window sill and stays away from the curtains. Thank you so much for making the cats available. They are precious.

Betty Boop

Betty Boop has turned out to be our diamond in the rough. Ever since “coming out” she has turned into a very sweet kitty. For anyone not familiar with the story, Betty got scared and found a left over hole in the wall near the washing machine to hide in. She stayed cloistered for almost a month, but there were signs that she was sneaking out at night to eat, drink, and visit the litter box. Finally, after some soft talk and coaxing, she began to come out and visit. Sometimes it was only for a few minutes. Eventually she started spending an hour or two out of the wall. She wasn’t always friendly, but she slowly overcame her shyness and fear. After Betty came out, she was very territorial over her little section of the kitchen. Eventually, Betty got to be a bit more friendly and the hisses ceased. She now enjoys playing together with her sister Sidney (also rescued from RUFF) and chasing the laser pointer. Although Betty Boop still doesn’t want to be pick up and held for very long, she will come over and occasionally sit in a lap. She has the smoothest and sleekest fur and she loves to be rubbed. Her favorite thing is to hold up her head, stretch out her neck, and be rubbed and scratched under her chin and down her neck. We are very happy to have found these cats and they have certainly become a part of the family.
