Scout I just wanted to give you an update on Scout - - my family adopted him this past Saturday at the PetSmart event in Garner. Scout is just the best little fellow! We have a three year old lab mix and they were wagging tails with each other in just moments after our arrival home with him. They have quickly become best buds! Someone - - and a great big thank you to whomever it was - - did a wonderful job with Scout on house training and manners. I am happy to report that he has not had even one "accident" and goes right to the door whenever he needs to go out in between times that we take him. His favorite place to sleep at night is curled up with my 16 year old daughter and he sleeps (and snores!) all night long. We have underground fencing around our entire yard, about an acre, and we have started training him on that and it's going very well. Scout is a quick learner and is so eager to please. Needless to say, everyone at our house loves Scout and we are so happy to have him with us!!
Sebastian Yes, Friday and Sebastian are fitting in just fine. Friday has claimed Alyssa's room as his own. We're not sure where Sebastian spends the day but they both come out and jump all over Peter when he's watching TV or otherwise sitting quietly. They don't play much with toys but they do play with Cleopatra. I still need to take them to our vet as soon as they are comfortable enough for me to pet them. How wonderful that two more kittens have had the opportunity to become part of RUFF. Your work with the shelters and adoptions is truly amazing. Alyssa was waiting to get further along in the girl scout journey so she hasn't worked on it much. She does want to get organized and I talked with the troop leaders. They are comfortable with the planning for the project at this point. I will have Alyssa get in touch with you about what would make sense as next steps. When we do have pictures of Friday and Sebastian, I will send them along. If you would like to stop by and visit, we'd be happy to arrange that as well. I hope they would come out of hiding to visit with you. They are great cats and we are delighted to have them as part of our family.
Smudge (now Logan) I adopted a pup you were calling "Smudge" We changed his name to Logan and he is settling in wonderfully. I thought you might like to see his Halloween outfit. He is dressed to kill in his business man shirt :) Thanks again! Jan
Sidney After rescuing Sidney she adjusted to our home much easier than her adopted sister Betty Boop. She spent about a week upstairs in her own “adjustment room” until she decided she was ready to come down and look around. She could tell that Betty Boop was around, but didn’t really press the issue of finding her. Sidney loves to climb up and sit on the desk and keep us company. We have never seen a cat that purrs as loudly as Sydney does. You can literaily hear her from across the room. She has started sitting in our arms at the desk and dozing off. One day, as we were going out, we saw Sydney misjudge her jump, and pull down the dining room curtains. After some re-arranging, she now has a better route to the window sill and stays away from the curtains. Thank you so much for making the cats available. They are precious.
Samantha (now Bella) Hi my name is Bella (formerly known as Samantha). I came to RUFF as a stray and my foster Mom spent alot of time teaching me manners and crate training me. I had waited a long time to be adopted when my new Mom showed up at one of RUFF's adoption events. The rest is history! She and I are best friends and I am living every canine's dream life! I have tons of toys and lots of love. P.S. I also sleep in the bed with my new Mom every night...so I basically rule the roost! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
