DOB: 12/4/2010
Elka is a German Shepherd, who was pulled from a shelter right after giving birth to 6 puppies. Elka was very emaciated, and very scared. Only one of her puppies survived. Elka is now healthy, and has gained almost 25 lbs. She is very beautiful, but very shy and timid, and will take some time to feel comfortable in new surroundings. She is good with other dogs, but will do better with larger dogs. Elka will need an owner who is willing to be extremely patient with her, and give her space until she feels comfortable. Because of her timidness, she will do better in a home without very young children and NO cats. Elka is housebroken, and does well on a leash, but does like to run and play. She will do best with someone who has a yard. Elka is also very shy and skittish around men. (*AM/CM) Up to date on age appropriate vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped. Adoption Fee: $150.00 More about ElkaGood with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Women Only, Quiet, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Plays fetch, Likes to play with toys, Protective, Timid, Skittish, Intelligent, Needs a companion animal Elka's baby girl, Melanie (now Tola K) (adopted) can also be seen on our website.
