My foster mom's words to me:

"Champ, sitting here cuddling tonight I realize how much I've fallen in love with you. When I saw your picture and heard your story I knew that I had to do whatever it took to give you the life that you deserved. You'd had ropes embedded in your fur and had been roaming around outside for quite some time.  RUFF graciously agreed to bring you into the program and we agreed to foster you in our home. I remember the first day we met. You didn't want to trust anyone. I gently approached you with a leash, you tucked your head and growled. It didn't seem like you'd ever been treated well. After some quiet conversation you allowed me to put on the leash. You trusted me to lift you into the car. The whole ride home you rested your head on my hand. When we got home you were covered in matts. You allowed me to cut 2lbs of fur off and give you a bath. We were slowly learning to trust each other. You didn't know how to walk on hardwood floors or use the stairs. At your vet visit, you had skin and ear infections and was heartworm positive. I hated for you to have to endure more than you already had. That's when we named you "Champ". We knew you would get through all of it. And you have! You are so trusting. You are a wonderful dog. You cuddle when I need a hug and you listen when I need an ear. You give me sweet soft kisses. You give me love. You have overcome your infections and completed your treatments. Now, as difficult as it is to let my big boy go and as much as I wish that you could remain a permanent part of our family, you are ready to go out and find your furever home. I will help you find the PERFECT family You have come so far! You deserve this! And I hope you know you will always be in my heart and that I will always love you!"
