J.T. loves attention. He appreciates playing with other cats and chasing the dog's tail. He likes to snuggle and to play with his toys. J.T. makes friends with new fosters very quickly. More often than not, new additions to our rescue family accept J.T.'s friendship before any other. J.T. would be a good fit for almost any family.

J.T. Has been diagnosed with Feline herpesvirus 1 which is an extremely c ommon infection amongst cats (95% of all cats carry this virus) Most of the time cats infected with this virus only show signs of illness for 3 to 6 weeks, J.T. seems to be one of the few that have recurrent outbreaks, mainly causing discharge from his eyes .  During times of stress the virus has recurred in J.T.  It is simple to treat and poses no huge threat to the other cats who may reside in the home with J.T.     As stated above, 95% of cats carry this virus.  J.T. and all the other cats in his foster home are given L Lysine in their food, L Lysine has been proven to decrease virus expression and helps shorten the course of the disease.  This supple ment  is not expensive and is very easy to ad minister.  Just sprinkle onto the cat's food every day.  When J.T. has a flair up, he is given eye drops twice a day until the inflammation subsides.  He is used to eye drops and does not resist administration.  J.T.'s adopter will be given all the information on his health and treatments to date making it easier for his new veterinarian to monitor his progress.  PLEASE NOTE!  THIS VIRUS IS NOT CONTAGIOUS TO HUMANS OR DOGS!    (BWh)

Up to date on age appropriate vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped.

Adoption Fee: $100.00
