Roxie was rescued from rural southern Johnston County. Her foster mom found her chained and nursing 8 puppies. The foster mom took Roxie and the pups home since the owner had agreed to let Roxie stay with the foster mom to nurse the pups until they were weaned. During that time the foster mom learned what a sweet dog Roxie truly is. People ask what kind of dog she is and I simply reply, "a Heinz 57". She is definitely a mix of many breeds. Roxie is a sweet dog with a very gentle nature. As you can guess, the pups were weaned and all were adopted but the foster mom just could not find it in her heart to send Roxie back to a life on a chain. Roxie’s previous owners would not agree to give Roxie up at first but eventually Roxie was surrendered. Now all she needs is a great forever home full of love. (TL)
